Wycliffe Drama Group

...We are back!

WYCLIFFE DRAMA GROUP NEWS

As many of our regular audience will know, 2020 was to have seen our 70th anniversary celebration with a world premiere of a new adaptation of ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ but the pandemic put paid to all our theatrical activity. However, we are now putting in place arrangements for our forthcoming season which the Lutterworth audience can enjoy. We shall be staging our annual Christmas concert, ‘Christmas Crackers’, on 18 December, and our next full production will be the traditional pantomime which this year will be ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. This will take place 20-22 January and readthrough and auditions will take place at the Wycliffe Rooms on Monday 20 September and Wednesday 22 September respectively at 7.30 pm. Anyone interested in taking part or requiring further information can contact WDG on secretary@wycliffedramagroup.co.uk. The spring production will be the farce ‘It Runs in the Family’ and the autumn production will be ‘A Tale of Two Cities’.

Of course, amateur drama is not just about acting or singing on stage. There are a whole range of activities which come together to make a production work: costumes, make-up, set design/construction/painting, lighting and sound, front of house management, stage management, properties to name a few. It is a fantastic way of meeting people and getting involved in a fun-filled team activity and we are always looking to welcome newcomers to the group – no experience necessary. If you would like to get involved, please contact Sylvia Smith who can give you more details: thedramaqueen32@btinternet.com.
